Constantine Wins 'Hamilton Fast 2017' - AGM 2017
Author: Mapleleaf / On: Saturday 30 September 2017 - 19:56:45 Read/Post Comment: 0 ::
Constantine won the fast tournament held in Hamilton on September 22, 2017. Congratulations!

During our AGM we kept the same board of directors but added Kaden Rashid to our executive. Welcome to leadership Kaden!

The only major change at the AGM: Under the stern direction of Robert Gillanders club members agreed to put away their chairs and chess equipment after their games. No bullying here!

Thanks to everyone who came to our AGM/Fast tournament. Now its back to um..serious chess!

AGM + Free Tournament September 22
Author: Mapleleaf / On: Thursday 21 September 2017 - 00:16:23 Read/Post Comment: 0 ::
This Friday at the Hamilton City Chess Club (Friday September 22) we will be hold our Annual Meeting and then a free 10 minute chess tournament that is open to anyone from the public. Our meeting will go from 7:30pm to about 8:30pm and then we will start the chess tournament asap after that.

Issues to be included in the discussion:
-election of our chess club's executive
-should we have more tournaments (on Fridays) with cash prizes/trophies (and therefore higher entry fees)?
-Our need for more volunteers
-Should our Friday tournaments have sections?

If there are other issues you would like to see discussed please comment here or email chesshamilton@gmail.com
Members can also bring up issues at the meeting
